Who am I?

I am Dr. Farzad Al Awadhi, specialist oral and maxillofacial surgeon and dental Implantologist.

Born in 1963 as a UAE national, I have over 30 years of dental surgery experience and 17 years of dental implant experience with over 9000 successful dental implants placed over the years.

Qualifications

  • B.D.S (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) through Bombay university, in Government Dental College & hospital, Bombay Jan 1989.
  • Completed the 4 required modules in oral implants, ITI dental implant system, University of Bern 2002 Msc. (oral surgery) Jordan University of science and technology, Irbid Jordan, Jan. 2005.
  • Completed all 3 Modules in Oral implants, New York University college of dentistry Continuing Dental Educational Programs, Implants in dentistry 2006, Dubai UAE, Sep. 2006.
  • Have completed all the modules in DENTSPLY oral implantology system and am currently an expert with ankylos, xive and Astra dental implant systems which is based in Sweden.

  • 1989-1994 & 2008-2017:
    private practice
  • 1994 - 2001:
    Director of dental department Ministry of health U.A.E Ajman.

    Held designation of head of the inspection team on private practice, ministry of health, Ajman
  • 2001- 2002:
    Clinical instructor department of endodontics, college of dentistry Ajman university of science and technology Ajman U.A.E & Dental surgeon Jumeirah dental center.

  • 2005-2006:
    Oral and maxillofacial surgeon Albaraha hospital Dubai as well as Director of the Dubai dental center ministry of health
  • 2006 till Current:
    Specialist Senior registrar Oral and maxillofacial surgeon DHA.

Operative experience in the field of minor oral surgery, which includes:

  • Surgical extraction and exposure of impacted teeth.
  • Surgical treatment of cystic lesions.
  • Pre-prosthetic surgery. Incision & drainage of intra-oral and extra-oral abscesses.
  • Treatment of dental, dento-alveolar and maxillofacial trauma.

  • Oral Implantology, including sinus lift procedures and different augmentation methods.
  • Excisional / incisional biopsy minor lesions.
  • Excision of soft tissue lesions and masses.
